So I press initialize, and the next thing I see are the options for initialization: MBR or GUID.

Interestingly, once I booted up in Win 7 32-bit, after a short wait on automatically installing the driver for the drive, my mystery drive is now detected in Disk Management.īut the drive says that it is not initialized. So now machine thinks I'm running Windows 7 with no drivers. So I hooked that drive up and booted into it. One thing I've done before I quit yesterday was this: I found another drive that had Windows 7 32-bit MBR. So following your advice, as soon as I write this reply, I will reboot in safe mode and analyse the boot log. In the BIOS, I simply looked at Boot Device Management section. So far, I've used Disk Management to see if my drive was detected in the OS. What do you mean by none would recognize the drive? At which tool or report did you look for such a conclusion?ĭo you mean the drive has been recognized and the file system not? What makes you sure that even the drive has not been recognized? Did you turn on boot logging in safe mode and analyse that log and the events of the boot phase to come to that conclusion?
